- Ola registers 37,230 units
- TVS and Bajaj register 11,812 units and 9,224 units, respectively
Exhibiting its dominance in the EV segment once again, Ola Electric not only topped the sales chart in May 2024 but also outsold TVS and Bajaj by a huge margin. As per VAHAN data, Ola registered as many as 37,230 units last month while TVS and Bajaj saw the registration of 11,812 units and 9,224 units, respectively. Following these brands were Ather and Hero MotoCorp which registered 6,076 units and 2,456 units, respectively.
Besides its aggressive marketing tactics and rapid expansion of dealership reach, the presence of a wide variety of models in the portfolio seems to be hugely benefitting Ola Electric. It not only offers the flagship, tech-intensive, big battery model, S1 Pro but also has the highly accessible S1 X in its line-up. While the former retails for Rs. 1,45,669, the latter costs Rs. 81,818 (both prices are on-road, Mumbai). With this type of diversity in its line-up, the company is certainly managing to target a wide range of customers.
Most other brands have started utilising a similar strategy. TVS recently launched the most affordable iQube trim pegged at Rs. 1,14,661, besides introducing its flagship iteration with a 5.1kWh battery pack that sets you back by Rs. 1,99,517. Meanwhile, Bajaj too introduced the 2901 variant of the Chetak which is their new accessible e-scooter with a price tag of Rs. 1,03,180. Meanwhile, the Chetak’s flagship Premium variant costs Rs. 1,64,778 (all prices are on-road, Mumbai).
