- Everve EF1 electric scooter prototype unveiled at the Auto Expo
- Production model to be launched by Q4 2020
- Claimed to have a top speed of up to 110kms
Everve Motors, a Pune-based electric two-wheeler start up, took the wraps off its first e-scooter prototype, the EF1, at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi. At the unveiling, the company revealed that the production model based on this concept will be launched by the fourth quarter of this year.
The EF1 electric scooter prototype looks as futuristic as it can get. Sporting buff body panels, it houses a U-shaped LED DRL and round headlamp on the wide front apron. The side panels also look rounded and chunky which are accompanied by a stepped seat. The EF1 gets an underbone chassis which aids in housing a pair of removable battery pack and results in a maxi-scooter-like footrest provision. The features too are as modern as its aesthetics, with full-LED lighting and TFT instrument cluster which will receive OTA (over the air) updates.
Performance numbers are where things get interesting with Everve’s prototype. To be available with options of 3.3kW and 5kW motor, the company claims it is capable of achieving a top speed of up to 110kmph. Moreover, 0-60kmph sprint is executed in 8.73 seconds. Although Everve hasn’t revealed the battery specifications, what we know is that it can be fully charged in five hours through a 5amp socket. It uses two batteries simultaneously, each weighing 12kgs and their life span is claimed to be five years.
The details of the Everve EF1 suggest that it will aim to compete against other competitive products such as the Bajaj Chetak and the Ather 450X. Now, it remains to be seen how close the production model of the EF1 will be to the prototype, in terms of performance and design. As for its pricing, Everve has clearly stated that the costing won’t be competitive so we can assume it to be around Rs 2 lakhs.
