- Hero MotoCorp shows upcoming Harley cruiser
- Also showed a street bike
- Bikes were there for the consumer survey
Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson forged a new partnership a few years ago that benefits both brands. Hero sells Harley bikes in India, and in return, Hero gets access to the Harley name and some of its tech.
According to one of our sources, the Gurgaon-based manufacturer recently showed some of its upcoming motorcycles to select individuals, including some dealers. The brand showed two motorcycles – one cruiser, which didn't have any badging or branding, but it resembled the Harley-Davidson 338R – the bike that is likely to be launched by the American brand in specific markets. Our source mentioned that the brand wanted feedback on the cruiser's styling and features.
The second bike was again a non-badged street motorcycle with aggressive styling and a single-cylinder engine with many features. At this meeting, various price points were discussed and also of its competition. Sadly, this motorcycle was kept in the open for a while before being covered.
They showed these bikes at a customer clinic, and Hero called some dealers. The idea behind this exercise was to gauge people's reactions and also take some feedback before launching the motorcycle in India.
