- Big bikes to be tested in India soon
- Showroom and service experience to be improved
KTM India will begin testing its big bikes in India soon. Word is that the 990 Duke, 890 Adventure and 1390 SuperDuke R are among the first big bikes that KTM is bringing to India with more models to follow soon.
KTM plans to thoroughly test its big bikes in Indian conditions before launching them. Previously, the 790 Duke was on sale in India and about 100 units were brought to our shores. While the bike was a proper thrill machine and enthusiasts loved the experience it provided, there were a few gremlins that plagued the bike. Our usually hot riding conditions and poor roads proved to be a challenge for the bike. KTM will be looking to iron out any potential issues before launching the new bikes.
Besides testing the bikes, KTM is also going to revamp the showroom and service experience which is a major concern with buying any big bike. The company is finalising the locations and dealerships that will sell and service the big bikes. These will be in a few metros, to begin with.
The expertise and experience required to handle these big bikes are vastly different from lower-capacity bikes. The same goes for the overall customer experience as well.
Lastly, KTM is looking to bring a wide range of bikes to India besides the ones we’ve mentioned. This includes the 1290 Super Adventure S, 890 Adventure R and more.
