MV Agusta is likely to launch its sport-touring motorcycle, the Turismo Veloce 800 in India by the end of this month. According to our sources, the bike will retail at Rs 20.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The Turismo Veloce 800 was spotted at the Motoroyale dealership in Pune a couple of months ago and was said to be undergoing the process for homologation. It sports bodywork similar to the MV Agusta F3 and F4 that is available here. However, being a sports-tourer, the Turismo Veloce 800 has longer travel suspension which gives it a tall stance. It gets the distinctive slash-cut exhausts that expose the single-sided swingarm and rear wheel.
Underneath the semi-fairing and trellis frame is a 798cc, inline-three cylinder engine that powers the Turismo Veloce. The unit produces 108bhp of power and 80Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with quickshifter. MV Agusta has equipped the bike with a ride-by-wire throttle, 8-level traction control and slipper clutch.
Bookings are yet to begin across all dealerships but deliveries of the Turismo Veloce 800 is expected to commence next month. In terms of competition, it will rival the BMW S1000XR and Ducati Multistrada 1260 in India.
