KTM has commenced the deliveries of its limited-edition RC 8C motorcycle. The first 25 units of the track-only motorcycle were delivered to their respective owners at Jerez on 7 October, 2021. The first 25 owners also had the opportunity to watch an official Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test session. The motorcycles were lined up in the same order in which they were ordered online.
Regular readers would know that the track-only RC 8C was limited to just 100 units worldwide. This limited-edition motorcycle was sold out within minutes after the bookings were opened on 22 July, 2021. The company confirmed in its press announcement that all 100 units of the RC 8C were sold out in four minutes and 32 seconds.
The KTM RC 8C uses a bespoke steel tubular chassis and is powered by an 890 Duke R-sourced LC8c engine. The 889cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, eight-valve engine has been tuned to deliver 126bhp of maximum power. The feature list on the motorcycle includes carbon Kevlar-reinforced GRP bodywork, aerodynamic winglets, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
The RC 8C uses 43mm WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge front forks and a WP APEX PRO 7746 rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The braking setup comprises twin 290mm discs with Brembo Stylema callipers at the front and a single 230mm rotor with a Brembo two-piston calliper at the rear.
