India Bike Week had organised its first edition of Chai & Pakoda Breakfast ride between Mumbai and Pune, earlier this week.
This ride was the first event in the social calendar of the annual bike festival, which will be held in Goa on February 19 and February 20, next year. With ‘safe riding’ as the key theme, the ride was flagged off by Arvind Salve, the DCP of Vashi. The 76-kilometre ride took the riders from Centre One Mall in Vashi to Sheetal Dhabha on the old Mumbai-Pune highway. Over 23 biker clubs participated in this year’s edition. Divided into packs of 30, each of the groups were led by an official IBW marshal.
The IBW 2016 will be the fourth edition of the bike festival. Featuring a number of competitions like Bikini Bike Wash, National Custom Bike Build-Offs and National Stunt Championship, the IBW is one of the biggest biker festivals in the country and attracts over 7,000 motorcycling enthusiasts from across the country. It also has custom and vintage bike displays and interactive sessions with international legends from the two-wheeler world.
Speaking about this ride, Martin da Costa, CEO of 70 EMG said, “We’ve always loved organising the Chai & Pakoda Rides for our Biker brothers and sisters. It’s been fantastic response over the last four years, with this Ride especially showing the world how united India’s Biking fraternity has become. It’s been a fantastic day, and we can’t wait for February, and the biggest India Bike Week at Goa of all time!”
