We've ridden the newest members of the UM range, and the Classic is the Renegade for the retro lovers among us. Here are five things that we learned about the Classic during our ride:
1. It looks the part. With all the chrome and especially with the dual-tone paint scheme that has pinstripes, it is a lovely retro look.
2. It handles really well. Within the limitations of the cruiser format, the Renegade Classic has good handling.
3. The fueling needs work. Although the power and torque are there, the fuel injection needs to be a little smoother at low engine revs.
4. The windshield does its job well. Although it makes it noisy for a tall rider, the windscreen protects the rider from windblast really well. Oh, and it can be removed in a couple of minutes.
5. You can accessorise the Classic. First on your list should be a saddlebag for the left side. There's a long list of accessories available - but a tank pouch and a USB charging socket are available as standard fitment.
