With several enterprises making their foray into the EV space, Delhi-based Gemopai Electric has launched its first electric scooter in the market. Christened Astrid Lite, the e-scooter carries a sticker price of Rs 79,999. Gemopai Electric is a joint venture between Goreen E-Mobility and Opai Electric which, according to the release, is one of the largest manufacturers of electric vehicles in the world. The newly launched Astrid Lite will soon be available across 50+ dealerships in India and Nepal. Pre-bookings for the trendy e-scooter have started while deliveries are expected to start from the first week of October.
The Astrid Lite is an electric scooter designed for everyday commuting, offering an ideal balance of style and performance. It comes with several features like LED colour display, LED headlamp with DRLs, keyless ignition, USB charging port, side-stand indicator and an anti-theft sensor for added safety.
Powering the EV is a 2400W motor that is capable of providing peak performance of 4000W. The motor draws its power from a 1.7kW removable lithium-ion battery which weighs about 8.5kg. The Astrid Lite comes with three drive modes – Sports, City and Economy, which according to the manufacturer, returns a range rated between 75 km to 90km. The range can be further extended to 150 km -180 km by opting for an extra battery. In Sports mode, the Astrid Lite is capable of achieving a top speed of 75kmph and a climbing angle of 18 degrees. The City mode, on the other hand, is designed for riding through city roads and traffic while the Economy Mode is intended to offer maximum efficiency and range.
For cycle parts, the Astrid Lite comes with telescopic forks for the front and twin shock absorber for the rear. Braking is done by a disc-drum arrangement that is equipped with EABS (Electronic Assist Brake System) for more braking efficiency.
Gemopai offers the Astrid Lite in five colour options comprising of Eclectic Neon, Deep Indigo, Fiery Red, Burnt Charcoal and Fireball Orange.
