- Launched six battery swap stations across Gurgaon and Delhi
- Currently launched its pilot project in India
- Catering to the B2B segment
Taiwan-based EV two-wheeler maker, Gogoro had set foot in India a while ago. The brand has launched its pilot project in the Indian two-wheeler market by introducing six battery swap stations set up across Gurgaon and Delhi.
Gogoro has also deployed 90 units of its 2-series electric scooters along with the swap stations. The brand has partnered with Zypp Electric and will use these pilot units for last-mile delivery purposes. The project is set to be carried out for six months and Gogoro will collect the operational data, riding patterns, battery use and swapping process.
The results of this pilot project will then be used for the production of EVs in India. Right from the wear and tear, battery needs and overall condition, a lot of learnings would be leveraged for future development. This also means that a Gogoro scooter, better suited for the Indian market could also be on the charts.
Moreover, this isn’t the only partnership that Gogoro has established in India. It has also received a large order of e-scooters from food delivery giant, Zomato, as the latter plans to have a full fleet of EVs for delivery. The learnings from of its projects will help Gogoro develop an India-specific product as well as evaluate its swapping stations.
