- Gogoro to sell e-scooters to Zomato
- Zomato wants to have a full EV fleet by 2023
- Gogoro has also tied up with Hero MotoCorp
Gogoro – the famous EV Company from Taiwan has joined hands with Zomato to sell its electric scooters in India. Gogoro is the EV company that has also tied up with Hero MotoCorp.
According to a report, the Taiwanese brand is looking to make deep inroads into India’s EV ecosystem, and one of the best ways is to do it via delivery riders. Zomato has nearly three lakh delivery partners in India and plans to go full electric by 2023. While this figure looked incredibly difficult to achieve, it may be possible with Gogoro by their side, who is known to manufacture and operate large EVs and battery swapping stations.
Gogoro has changed the way electric scooters are used and operated in Taiwan. It has the biggest market share there and hopes to replicate some of its success in India. The first step of tying up with India’s biggest two-wheeler brand Hero MotoCorp was a big call. Now with Zomato, the brand can have a considerable market share quickly.
Currently, there aren’t exact details on the number of orders Gogoro has received from Zomato. But we believe these orders would have gone for a no non-sense electric two-wheeler that will be focused more than being cost-effective. So the expected on-road price is likely to be extremely attractive, and so will the riding range.
