Gogoro has entered into an agreement with the Maharashtra government to set up a new electric vehicle and battery manufacturing factory in the state.
According to this new agreement, Gogoro will receive financial and other support from the Maharashtra government. The company plans to start making new electric scooters in the country that will be sold in the coming years. It plans to manufacture smart battery packs and swap stations to help the growing EV industry.
Gogoro’s India website has two models listed – 2 Series and SuperSport. These e-scooters are expected to be sold in India and positioned as smart vehicles. Other than this, the Taiwanese-based company has also tied up with Hero MotoCorp. The details around this alliance are unknown, but we can expect a range of new EVs with battery-swapping tech features.
