- CrossOver gets rugged styling
- India launch likely
Gogoro – the company known for its massive market share in the EV space in Taiwan, has ventured out to something adventurous. The brand has unveiled a new CrossOver electric scooter, a two-wheeler for off-road and on-road.
The company is calling it the ultimate two-wheeled SUV, and from the overall styling, it is clear that the scooter gets a practical and rugged feel. Gogoro says that the CrossOver is built around a new platform that enables increased rigidity while offering a variety of storage and riding capabilities.
This off-road scooter gets its power from a 7.6 kW electric motor. The overall riding range and the charging time have yet to be revealed. It has a synchronized braking system, a telescopic front fork, and a dual shock absorber setup at the rear. It rides on 12-inch wheels, which are shod with Maxxis dual-purpose tyres.
In terms of features, this Gogoro gets all connectivity features on the colour dashboard. There's a smartphone app as well that can be used to track all the ride data. Interestingly, a traction control system (TCS) comes as standard and a cruise control feature, which is optional.
Currently, this scooter will be sold in Taiwan, but eventually sold in more markets. Gogoro has a presence in India but has yet to operate its business to its full potential. It has tied up with Hero MotoCorp, but no one knows the actual nature of work between these two companies in India.
