GoPro has unveiled a new line of cloud-connected HERO5 Cameras, GoPro Plus subscription service and a drone. The HERO5 Black is priced at 400 dollars (Rs 27,800) while the smaller HERO5 Session is priced at 300 dollars (Rs 20,100). The Karma drone without a camera will cost you 800 dollars (Rs 53,600). These are prices for the United States market, expect Indian prices to be higher.
The all-new line of cameras can auto-upload photos and videos to GoPro Plus, a cloud-based subscription service that makes it easy to access, edit and share content anytime, anywhere using a phone or computer. However, the biggest change on these new cameras are the simple one button control and they look significantly cleaner too.
The HERO5 Black can record 4K videos at 30 frames per second (FPS) through its 12 megapixel camera. The session will record 4k videos at FPS too, but through its 10 megapixel lens.
Coming to the drone, the Karma features a compact, fits-in-a-small-backpack design and includes an image-stabilization grip that can be handheld or mounted to vehicles, gear and more. GoPro say that Karma makes it easy for anyone to capture amazingly smooth, stabilized video during almost any activity.
The GoPro Plus subscription system which will be required to use the cloud support will cost 5 dollars (Rs 335) per month after a free trial. It will be available in the United States on October 2nd and in additional markets like India, beginning January, 2017.
