- GPX has launched the Demon GR200R in the Malaysian market
- Gets a top speed of over 140kmph
- Retails at RM 11,388
The Thai manufacturer, GPX has launched the Demon GR200R in the Malaysian market. The company is mainly involved in manufacturing motorcycles that cater to a broad category of consumers. In 2018, the company scaled their business into other South-Asian markets, starting with Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
The design of the bike does full justice to its name, as it looks very sporty and aggressive. It gets features like full-LED lights and a digital instrument cluster. It employs a hydraulic braking system with a disc on both ends. But, unfortunately, there is no mention of a safety feature like ABS.
It is powered by a 198cc motor which produces 18.74bhp of power and 17.2Nm of twist. All this power is taken to the wheels via a six-speed transmission. The bike is underpinned by a trellis frame and the ride is taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and USD forks at the rear.
There are three colours on offer - Red Fire, Matt Gray and Black Space. It is priced at RM 11,388, which converts to Rs 2,05,962. The chances of the bike entering the Indian market are pretty slim. But, it goes up against the KTM RC200, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the Yamaha R15 V3 in terms of displacement and body style.
