Harley Davidson launched a new motorcycle from the Dyna range, the Fat Bob, with a price tag of Rs 12.80 lakh and now there are rumours of H-D developing a motorcycle which will be made for India.
The company started its CKD assembly in Haryana in 2011, which makes India the second country to have a Harley Davidson assembly plant outside the US. Currently, only the SuperLow and Iron 883 are being assembled there with the rest of the range being imported as CBUs. Now that it has the assembly plant in place, rumours are making the rounds that Harley is developing a motorcycle which is dedicated to Indian market.
Senior Company officials from US and India are in talks with Indian vendors to set up a manufacturing facility and vendor base for producing this motorcycle. The unveiling of this new motorcycle might happen at the 2014 Auto Expo. The new Harley Davidson motorcycle will have a V-twin motor and will displace 400-500cc.
