- Both based on Benelli Leoncino 250 and 500
- X350 and X500 derive styling from XR1200
- Will not be launched in India
Harley-Davidson’s most affordable model in India is the X440 that is made specifically for India and serves as a replacement to the X350 and X500 which have now been launched in Japan, a month after its introduction in Austalia.
The Harley-Davidson X350 and X500 rival against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Interceptor 650 respectively but will go up with the Honda Rebel series in Japan. Now, the X350 and X500 are a result of Harley’s collaboration with Benelli’s parent company- Qianjiang. Which is why both models are based on the Leoncino platform, sharing their engines and components too.
As for styling, the Harley Davidson X350 and X500 derive styling from the XR100X, just like the X440. So it comes with a petite fuel tank and rear section that seem like theta re flowing into the mid-section. The retro element comes from the circular headlamp. Powering the X350 is 353cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that offers 36bhp and 31Nm. Meanwhile, the X500 offers 47bhp and 46Nm from its 500cc parallel-twin motor.
Well, both motorcycle will not be launched in India thanks to the introduction of the X440. Priced at Rs 2.30 lakh and offered in three variants, the X440 comes with more features but a single-cylinder engine. It rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Classic 350, Jawa 42 and Honda CB350 here.
