- Harley-Davidson X350 and X500 to be introduced in Austalia
- Both come with a parallel-twin engine
- Will not be launched in India which has the X440
Harley-Davidson has announced the introduction of the X350 and X500 in the Australian market. The motorcycles will go up against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Interceptor 650 as well as the Honda Rebel 300 and 500 in that country.
The Harley-Davidson X350 and X500 are a result of the brand’s collaboration with Qianjiang- Benelli’s mother company. Hence, both motorcycles are based on the Leoncino platform and share most of their components like the frame and engine too.
In terms of styling, Harley-Davidson has taken inspiration from the XR1200X, just like it did with the X440. A petite fuel tank and a rear section that seems to flow from the mid-section are part of the styling. You also can see a hint of retro-ness with the circular headlamp. Powering the X350 is a 353cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that offers 36bhp and 31Nm. On the other hand, the X500 offers 47bhp and 46Nm from the 500cc, parallel-twin engine. Both motorcycles get a six-speed gearbox.
With that said, the Harley-Davidson X350 and X500 will not make their way to India as we already have the X440 here. That motorcycle is priced from Rs 2.30 lakh and is offered in three variants. While it gets much more features than the X350 and X500, the X440 comes with a single-cylinder engine.
