- Type approval documents leaked
- Reveal design cues and more
- Likely to be christened the X350 and X500
We recently came across Harley-Davidson’s upcoming cruiser’s newly leaked details and now the type of approval documents have also surfaced on the web. The new intel sheds more light on the American brand’s upcoming cruisers. Let’s take a look.
From the images photographed for the type approval document, we now know that the bikes could be dubbed the X350 and the X500. The smaller cruiser gets a round LED headlight topped by a single pod console. It also gets a slightly angular and wide fuel tank followed by a scooped single-piece ribbed seat.
The X350’s chassis looks similar to the Benelli 302S’s unit (sold overseas). Even the USD front forks and the twin petal discs at the front seem identical. Harley is likely to power the X350 with a 353cc twin-cylinder motor dishing out 36bhp. The type approval documents also reveal that the bike will tip the scales at 195kg which is a tad heavy. And its top speed is rated at 143kmph.
Meanwhile, the X500 borrows the frame, suspension, braking hardware, and silhouette from the Benelli Leoncino 500. So, the upright handlebar, round LED headlight, and scooped seat all seem identical to the Benelli offering. Harley-Davidson is likely to power the X500 with the same motor, with the output rated at 47bhp and a top speed of 159kmph.
With Harley-Davidson and Qianjiang’s ties, the former benefits from the multiple products that Benelli, Keeway, and QJ Motor offer. This is is a result of Qianjiang being the parent company for all three brands. You can expect an official announcement from Harley sometime in 2024.
