- Powered by a 500cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder motor
- Features LED illumination and more
- Based on the Benelli Leoncino 500
It’s not a secret that Harley-Davidson had plans to launch two small-capacity cruisers, precisely the 350cc and 500cc. While the 350 debuted a while ago, the X500 has been freshly launched in China, and here’s what we know about it.
The Harley-Davidson X500 is based on the Benelli Leoncino 500. This is a result of the American brand’s ties with QJ Motor, which owns multiple manufacturers, including Benelli. So, the X500 gets the same design, hardware, and engine as the Chinese scrambler. As you see here, it features a round LED headlight followed by a large fuel tank and a scooped single-piece seat.
The X500 is powered by a 500cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder motor that dishes out 47bhp and 46Nm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and comes nestled in a tubular frame. The bike is suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock, with the braking setup consisting of a dual front and a single rear disc with ABS. The X500 gets a semi-digital instrument console featuring a speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel level indicator, and gear position indicator.
In China, the Harley-Davidson X500 is priced at CNY 44,000 (approximately Rs. 5.24 lakh). However, it won’t be launched in India since Harley-Davidson’s merger with Hero MotoCorp has resulted in a completely new product which will be built ground up by Hero.
