- 300cc Harley-Davidson cruiser spotted in China
- Specifications were revealed last month through a leaked document
- India launch might take place next year
Images of Harley-Davidson’s smallest 300cc motorcycle had leaked online in March 2021. After about a month now, we have got our hands on some pictures of the motorcycle being spotted in flesh in China. Harley-Davidson is developing this bike in association with Qianjiang, its partner in China where it will be called the QJMotor SRV300.
The 300cc Harley-Davidson looks ready for production incorporating body panels in the fully-finished form. That indicates it’s likely to be launched in China soon. In all probabilities, Harley-Davidson will make certain changes to this bike and will launch it in other markets. It might also land on the Indian shores sometime next year. If that happens, the 300cc Harley will be a close rival to the likes of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Jawa Standard and Benelli Imperiale 400.
On the styling front, the QJ SRV300 boasts a traditional Harley styling, specifically similar to the Iron 883. It gets a circular headlamp with a tiny fly screen on top, a peanut-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat and a raised rear fender. Things like the blacked-out engine, black handlebar, mirrors, and alloy wheels lend it a modern cruiser appeal.
The type-approval document that was leaked earlier had revealed some of its technical specifications as well. It runs on a 296cc V-twin engine that makes around 30bhp of peak power. The kerb weight of the bike is an acceptable 163kg and the top speed is claimed to be around 129kmph. Furthermore, it rides on a 16-15-inch wheel combination which is apparently suspended by upside down forks and dual shock absorbers.
Now, it remains to be seen when will this small Harley-Davidson be launched in other markets and what changes it will incorporate over the QJ SRV300.
