Dainese has launched a brand new head-to-toe safety system for motorcycle racing. This system includes an AGV Pista GP R helmet and the Dainese Mugello R D-air racing suit. The company has also worked closely with MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi in this aspect.
The racing suit introduces over 25 new features and several pioneering innovations leading to five new patents. The D-air platform has been implemented to extend the area covered by the airbag: from the neck, shoulders and collarbones, to the lower sides of the rib cage. The suit features a redesigned LED interface, as well as a patented Intelligent Emergency Lighting System. It also features an adaptive knee construction and innovative constructive solutions, such as high-performance pre-curved engineered textiles and tri-axial elastics. The elbow construction has also been re-engineered, introducing an optimised slider shape and a quick release system.
The suit is available through Dainese’s custom works program and will be introduced in two colour options from April 2017 starting from £3,399.95 (Rs 3 lakh) onwards.
The AGV Pista GP R is a reworked version of the Pista GP helmet which is its top of the line product. The Pista GP R offers increased field of vision with the introduction of a Race 3 Max Pinlock. The aerodynamic performance has been improved with a new wind-tunnel-tested Biplano rear spoiler. The Pista GP R is the first helmet to include a hydration system, featuring internal channels and a drinking valve placed inside the chin area.
The helmet will be available from November 2016 with prices starting from £1,011.95 (Rs 89,000).
