- Hero Cycle Lectro EHX20 priced at Rs 1.3 lakhs
- Powered by Yamaha sourced Center Motor positioned directly between the pedals
- Targeted at the small yet growing community of adventure lovers and mountain cyclists
Hero Cycles, a leader in both the standard and special Cycle segments in India, has launched the Lectro EHX20 in partnership with Yamaha, priced at Rs 1.3lakhs. It is acclaimed by the manufacturer to be India’s first Center Motor E-Cycle.
The Lectro EHX20 is aimed at revolutionising the adventure e-bicycling experience landscape in India, according to the company. The EHX20 is the first product to be offered under the three-way strategic partnership tie-up between Hero Cycles Ltd, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Targeted at the small yet growing community of adventure lovers and mountain cyclists, the EHX20 offers a refreshing and rejuvenating E-Cycle to ride on.
Unlike other e-cycles in the market that are equipped with rear hub motors designed for commuting on flat surfaces, the Lectro EHX20 comes with a Center Motor positioned directly between the pedals. This arrangement of the motor contributes to huge performance gains of the cycle while making it suitable also for adventure sports and steep incline riding. While the e-cycle is manufactured at Hero Cycles’ Ghaziabad plant, the motor has been imported from Yamaha’s electric drive unit.
The Lectro EHX20 is powered by Pedal Assist Cycle along with Centre Motor setup offering a combination of manual pedalling with battery assist. Furthermore, the powertrain comes with triple sensor technology of torque sensor, speed sensor and a crank sensor for sharp pedalling response/assist and improved power support at a higher cadence. According to the company, the e-Cycle can offer a range of 60-70 km on a full charge which takes about 3.5 hours.
