Hero MotoCorp, has silently pulled the plug on the Xtreme and the Hunk, from its official website. However, the Xtreme S ports will continue to be in the country.Hero MotoCorp has been developing its own technology since quite a while now as it moves away from Honda-derived engine technology. Until now, the Xtreme as well as the Hunk were based on the Unicorn engine and the end of partnership has restricted their upgrade to the mandatory BS-IV version. As Hero MotoCorp will take time on developing one of its very own BS-IV compliant engine, it is unlikely that the latest version of the bikes will be launched anytime soon.
Although, the discontinued version of the Xtreme has a better version, the Indian bikemaker had been listing the older model on the website as well. Now with clear focus on better selling products, Hero MotoCorp has finally taken them off its official website and has now listed only the latest models.
As for future plans, reports indicate that the company will be investing Rs 2,500 crore for product development, capacity installation and expansion of the company facilities in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the bikemaker is also focused on introducing six new models in 2018, more details for the same will be known in the days to come. Additionally, the Indian bikemaker has also discontinued the Passion X pro and the TR variant as we now have the new Passion Pro i3S.
