Hero Electric reports good sales post FAME price cut

Hero Electric has the best July ever

Sells 4500 high speed EVs

Hero Electric claims that it has sold over 4500 high speed electric scooters in July. According to one of the dealers, last month was their busiest ever and this was due to a cut in FAME prices.  The EV company said it sold over 15,000 high-speed electric scooters in the first seven months of 2021. There’s more demand for Optima HX and Nyx HX across the country. The Photon HX, which is the brand’s most expensive offering, isn't setting the sales chart on fire yet. Many governments including Maharashtra announced lots of price cuts through its new policy. As a part of this new EV policy, the government will subsidise the first 100,000 electric two-wheeler buyers by giving them an incentive of Rs 5,000 per kWh of battery capacity. The previous cap for the same category was at Rs 5000. But interestingly, there's an additional Rs 5000 incentive for buyers who will purchase an EV before 31st December 2021. This will take the total incentive to Rs 15,000. The policy also states that the road tax and registration costs will be waived off.
