- Hero Electric registers a 35 per cent month-on-month sales hike
- Okinawa clinches the second spot
- TVS Motors records a substantial growth over June
The month of July brought along a massive jump in sales of electric two-wheelers in India. In total, 44,259 electric two-wheelers were sold in the country last month which is an increment of about 200 per cent over the corresponding month last year. Interestingly, even the month-on-month sales grew by six per cent as compared to June when EVs found 41,837 takers in India.
Leading the EV sales chart last month was Hero Electric which dispatched 8,786 units. The company had been facing a sales slump over the last few months but July recorded a significant jump. For reference, the company had sold just 6,504 units in June but saw a bump of 35 per cent last month. Closely following Hero Electric on the chart was Okinawa which sold 8,093 units last month – an increment of 17 per cent over June when it dispatched 6,944 units.
While Ampere managed to be in the third spot with sales of 6,312 units, it recorded a month-on-month drop of 4 per cent over June’s sales of 6,541 units. On the flip side, TVS Motors, which clinched the fourth spot, registered a substantial growth from selling 1,946 units in June to dispatching as many as 4,244 electric two-wheelers in July 2022. Following TVS Motors in the fifth and sixth positions were Ola Electric and Ather Energy, respectively, both of which saw a significant month-on-month slump in their sales in July.
