- To launch four electric motorcycles
- Investment of USD 60Mn in March 2023
- Could be launched in 2025
Hero MotoCorp and California-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Zero Motorcycles entered a partnership in the first half of 2023 to sell the latter’s offerings in the country. Fresh investor reports reveal that the partnership could result in a new electric platform.
This new electric platform is said to spawn four different motorcycles. While the first phase will have two high-performance electric motorcycles in two body styles, the second phase will have ‘mid-performance’ offerings for the second phase of the plan.
Details of these offerings are unknown but given the kind of performance Zero Motorcycles are known for, they are expected to be enticing and in line with something like the Ultraviolette F77.
The reports suggest that an investment of USD 60 Million was made in March 2023 for this development. That said, the launch timeline for the Hero and Zero electric platform hasn’t been revealed. However, we can expect it to be launched sometime in 2025. These offerings are also expected to be introduced in other markets where Zero Motorcycles are present, especially USA and Europe.
