Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp and California-based Zero Motorcycles have signed agreements to collaborate on premium electric motorcycles. This collaboration will combine the expertise of Zero in developing powertrains and electric motorcycles with the scale of manufacturing, sourcing, and marketing of Hero MotoCorp.
Do note that in September 2022, the board of Hero MotoCorp approved an equity investment of up to USD 60 million (Rs 491 crore) in Zero Motorcycles.
The company has not revealed any details about the launch timeline for the co-developed products yet. However, Zero Motorcycles already has a wide range of products listed on its international website. These include electric motorcycles in the roadster, sports tourer, and adventure segments.
In other news, Hero MotoCorp has launched and started deliveries of its newly launched electric scooter, Vida V1, under its emerging mobility brand, Vida. The company has also started operations of its public charging infrastructure in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Jaipur. Hero MotoCorp currently has nearly 300 charging points across these three cities for public use.
