- Hero registers a 3 per cent increase in sales
- Sells 4.85 lakh units
- E-scooter launch was pushed by a few months
Hero MotoCorp has registered just 3.3 per cent growth in June 2022. The company sold a total of 4.85 lakh two-wheelers last month.
The Gurgaon-based company had sold 4.69 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters combined last June. The majority of the sales for the company come from two motorcycle brands – Splendor and Passion. These bikes have been the bread and butter models for the company and it continues to be one of the highest sellers in India’s rural market.
For the urban markets, the company has some products like the Maestro Edge, Xpulse and the Xtreme but the overall numbers aren’t as high as the ones they sell in the rural markets. The brand is expected to shift its focus to premium bikes in the next few years as the entry-level commuter segment is likely to be dominated by EVs in the next 7-10 years.
Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its new EV brand Vida which will cater to the future markets, but we can expect the brand to have a stronghold in 200cc plus segments as it is working on a range of new motorcycles.
