- Hero MotoCorp to sell EVs under Vida brand
- First product to be unveiled on 1 July, 2022
- Announces a global sustainability fund of USD100
It was in November last year that we had speculated about Hero MotoCorp’s new electric sub-brand to be called Vida, based on the trademark it had filed for the name. After three months now, the company has officially introduced the Vida sub-brand for its electric two-wheelers, adding that the first product under this banner will be launched on 1 July, 2022.
In case you are wondering, Hero MotoCorp cannot go with the brand name ‘Hero Electric’ since a company with the same name already exists. As for its first product, it was earlier scheduled to be launched in March but the plan has been delayed. The deliveries of this product will commence a few months after its launch.
Besides announcing the Vida sub-brand, Hero MotoCorp also declared a global sustainability fund of USD100 which will be utilised to collaborate with different companies globally. These partnerships will be established and managed by BML Mungal University (BMU), along with Hero MotoCorp.
Hero MotoCorp’s first EV will most likely be an electric scooter a picture of which was leaked in August last year. However, we can confirm only at the official launch on 1 July.
