Hero MotoCorp has reported its sales data for April 2021. During the month, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer sold 3,72,285 units in the domestic and the international markets. The sales numbers of April 2021 are not comparable with the corresponding month of the previous year, since no vehicles were manufactured and dispatched to dealers, due to the nationwide lockdown.
The company sold 3,42,614 units in the domestic market while 29,671 were exported during the month. The motorcycle sales stood at 3,39,329 units while 32,956 scooters were sold in April 2021. The company said in its press announcement that sales in April 2021 were subdued due to the impact of the second wave of COVID-19.
Hero MotoCorp has decided to extend the shutdown at its manufacturing facilities, its Global Parts Center (GPC) in Neemrana, and the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) R&D facility in Jaipur by another six days until 9 May, 2021. The decision was taken to break the chain of the spread of Coronavirus.
