- Hero sold 6.5 lakh units last month
- Decrease of 7.7 per cent compared to May 2018
Hero Motocorp has registered a 7.7 per cent decline in sales numbers for May 2019.
The Delhi-based manufacturer sold 6.5 lakh units last month as compared to the 7.06 lakhs two-wheelers it sold in May 2018. On the other hand, sales for the company have crossed the 6 lakh mark for the first time since February 2019 wherein it sold 6.17 lakh units. For March and April this year, Hero Motocorp clocked sales of 5.81 lakhs and 5.74 lakhs respectively making May the highest-selling month so far.
This increase in sales could be due to the slew of launches Hero had last month. It began with the arrival of the highly-anticipated XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T which are priced competitively. The Xtreme 200S was also launched alongside the XPulse twins, which as we found out, has garnered more attention thanks to its styling.
Hero also launched the Maestro Edge 125 in India which is the first fuel-injected scooter in the country. To keep a stronghold in the scooter market, it also introduced the refreshed Pleasure Plus 110. With so many products to strengthen its portfolio, Hero is looking to keep its title of being the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer for a while.
