Hero MotoCorp is set to expand its global footprint and commence its operations in the Philippines. The Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has partnered with Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC), a part of the Columbian Group of Companies, to launch its motorcycles in the Philippines market.
Under the partnership, TMC will be the exclusive assembler and distributor of Hero MotoCorp motorcycles in the Philippines. Hero MotoCorp will set up an assembly facility at its existing principal manufacturing facility situated in Laguna City. The operations are scheduled to commence in the second half of the fiscal year 2024.
Currently, Hero MotoCorp’s global footprint spans 43 countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South & Central America. The Indian manufacturer has eight manufacturing facilities. Of these, six are in India, while one each is operational in Colombia and Bangladesh.
Speaking about this partnership, Sanjay Bhan, Head of Global Business, Hero MotoCorp, said that the company’s partnership with Terrafirma Motors Corporation to enter the Southeast Asian region is an integral part of this expansion strategy.
