- Hero to manufacture Zero electric bikes in India
- Will also sell it in India
- Launch likely post-2025
Hero MotoCorp has decided to manufacture the famous Zero electric motorcycles in India. Both companies had joined hands to do business in the Indian market.
This significant development was revealed in the company's annual report. With this new decision, it is clear that the Gurgaon-based manufacturer wants to play an essential role in the EV segments. Currently, it sells the Vida V1 Pro via its new EV brand. However, this electric scooter's sales and service reach aren't outstanding.
Zero motorcycles are known for their high-performance nature and also riding range. This brand is positioned in the US as a premium EV brand, so the pricing is higher. The brand has an extensive line-up of motorcycles catering to various segments. The decision to make Zero bikes in India is purely because Hero MotoCorp has a robust supply chain. If Hero wants to make a big difference in the EV space, it will have to price Zero bikes quite competitively, and this is only possible if the bikes are made in India.
There's yet to be an official timeline for the Zero bikes launch in India, but we expect these bikes to be coming in post-2025.
