- Trademark documents leaked
- Could be used for its upcoming 440cc bike
- Could also be trademarked to reserve the name
New documents of Hero MotoCorp’s latest trademarks have been leaked online. The brand has trademarked two new names – Hurikan and Hurikan 440. Moreover, two Hero test bikes were recently spotted testing. One of them looked like the Xpulse 210, whereas the other seemed notably larger and could potentially bear the Hurikan 440 tag. However, Hero could’ve also filed the trademark to reserve the name for future use on other bikes as well.
Speaking of the latest test mule images, the streetfighter-like bike’s crankcase appeared quite large and similar to the one we see on the Harley-Davidson X440. In one of our previous stories, we also reported that Hero is working on a power roadster based on the X440 platform.
On the design front, the test mule features a low-slung headlamp and muscular body panels. It rides on upside-down front forks and a monoshock at the back. The overall stance looks quite butch, too. We expect the test mule to have the same engine as the one we currently see on the Harley-Davidson X440. It is a 440cc, oil and air-cooled, single-cylinder engine and develops 27bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 38Nm at 4,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. However, Hero could alter the state of tune for its new 440cc bike.
The new Hero 440 bike could be launched in India in March 2024, and the asking price could be set at around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
