Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch a new series of 125cc motorcycles. The company has codenamed one of its new bikes ABGA and this is being co-developed with Engines Engineering and AVL.
This new 125cc bike is being developed from the ground up and will sport an all-new chassis and bodywork. In terms of aesthetics, Hero MotoCorp won’t go full blown out with striking looks but would rather stick to a very sober yet attractive design. In terms of performance, Hero might continue to use the current 125cc engines to power this new motorcycle as the company doesn’t have its own engine in that segment.
This Italian company, Engines Engineering, is responsible in bringing up Hero’s next-generation product line-up. As per our source, the Italian design firm is working full time with multiple projects trying to ready Hero’s new motorcycles. Currently, the company’s 125cc segment is taken care of by the Super Splendor and the Glamour. However, the combined sales of these two brands are far less than the Honda CB Shine, which is the industry leader. Hero MotoCorp wants to earn a bigger pie of this segment as it is growing rapidly.
Things will get more interesting as we get close to the 2016 Auto Expo. We’re expecting Hero MotoCorp to display this new 125cc bike as a concept at the upcoming motoring show, along with its other new products.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more information on this new 125cc motorcycle.
