- Hero MotoSports announces riders for 2021 Dakar Rally
- Sebastian Buhler, Joaquim Rodrigues and CS Santosh will compete for Hero
- 43rd edition of the Dakar will take place in Saudi Arabia
Hero MotoSports is all set to be a part of the 2021 edition of what is known as one of the toughest rallies in the world, the Dakar. Representing the company in the competition will be Sebastian Buhler, Joaquim Rodrigues and CS Santosh.
All three riders have ample of achievements under their belt. While Sebastian is the 2020 FIM Cross-Country BAJA World Cup winner, Joaquim proved his mettle by conquering the 2019 Pan Africa Rally. Meanwhile, CS Santosh is one of India’s most celebrated rally riders who has been competing in Dakar Rally since 2015.
Hero MotoSports also revealed the updated 450 Rally bike the riders will be competing on. The 450cc engine of the motorcycle has been revised for higher top speed and better acceleration. The chassis has also been overhauled for improved handling and stability. Other changes in the bike include better ergonomics, larger fuel tank, tweaked suspension and a more efficient cooling system. It also sports a new Barcode-inspired livery.
This will be the 43rd edition of the Dakar Rally which will be held in Saudi Arabia. It will commence in Jeddah on 3 January 2021 and will conclude in the same city on 15 January. The 12-day event will witness the riders spanning a total distance of 7647kms comprising extremely treacherous and varied types of terrain.
