The Hero MotoSports Team Rally created history by winning the Stage Three of the ongoing Dakar Rally 2022. This is the first-ever stage win at the Dakar by an Indian team and an Indian manufacturer. Hero MotoSports Team Rally rider Joaquim Rodrigues, who is in his sixth consecutive appearance at Dakar for the team, won the stage with a time of 2:34:41. His teammate, Aaron Maré, finished the stage in the 18th position.
At the end of Stage Three, Aaron Maré stood 10th in the overall ranking while Joaquim Rodrigues took the 17th spot. Sherco Factory riders, Lorenzo Santolino, Rui Gonçalves, and Harith Noah Koitha Veettil finished the third stage in 20th, 23rd, and 29th positions, respectively. In general rankings, Santolino, Veettil, and Gonçalves hold the sixth, 31st, and 42nd positions, respectively.
The Stage Three of the ongoing Dakar Rally 2022, which comprised a 255km special section, started from Al Qaisumah. The Stage Four of the rally will be the longest of Dakar 2022. It will comprise a total of 707km from Al Qaisumah to Riyadh, including a special section of 465km.
