A few months ago, we got you the exclusive news and details of the 440cc bike that Hero will launch under its brand name and now, it is finally happening. The company has released some information on this motorcycle.
This new motorcycle will have a name which starts with the letter ‘R’. It has an exhaust sound that has a strong bass in it, and this is something, that also sounds similar to the Harley Davidson X440. As we mentioned in our exclusive story, this new Hero bike will be positioned as a power roadster with some design inspiration from the famous Yamaha MT 01. The idea behind this motorcycle is to cater to a set of buyers who want a macho look but, at the same time, need a commanding riding position and comfortable ergonomics.
This new Hero bike will be built on the same Harley Davidson X440 platform, but the overall styling will be different. The overall styling aesthetics of this Hero are part of the brand’s new design language. In terms of performance, this new Hero will also be powered by the same 440cc, single-cylinder, oil and air-cooled engine. This motor makes 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The gear ratios on the Hero are likely to be different to suit the nature of the motorcycle.
This new Hero motorcycle will be launched in India on 22 January, and we are expecting to ride it in February. In terms of pricing, this bike is likely to have a sub-Rs 2 lakh ex-showroom introductory price tag.
