- Vida to showcase two bikes at EICMA
- Vida Lynx dirt bike teased
- Near-production children’s dirt bike to be displayed as well
Hero’s EV brand, Vida Electric is all set to showcase two electric off-road bikes at EICMA 2024. The EV maker has teased its upcoming electric dirt bike on its social handles, before its official debut at EICMA.
Dirt bike concept
The motorcycle in question is the Vida Lynx concept, which debuted at the same motor show a couple of years ago. According to our sources, this particular model, although still a concept, has gone through various iterations of development and has evolved from its first iteration. That said, it is still a few years away from going into production. Vida Electric will use this unveil as a technological showcase of the possibilities in the EV space.
According to the teaser video, the electric bike has the same design as the Lynx concept. It has a trellis frame that houses the battery pack, minimal bodywork, and long-travel suspension. It rides on wire-spoke wheels, wrapped in knobby off-road tyres.
Children's electric bike
Besides the electric dirt bike, Vida will also take the wraps off a near-production kid's electric dirt bike. This children’s bike is likely to be based on the Vida Acro concept and will be targeted towards the three to nine-year-old age group. It is likely to have a 3-point adjustable frame, while users can change the seat height, handlebar position, and bike length.
Currently, none of the OEMs offer a children’s bike, neither ICE nor an EV. If launched in India, the Vida Acro (or whatever the name is) could be a game changer and open a segment of motorcycles for young kids who are serious about motorcycling.
