- Vida brand to include Hero’s electric two-wheeler
- To launch new scooter tomorrow
- Could be priced around Rs 1 lakh
Hero Motocorp is all set to launch its first-ever electric scooter in India tomorrow, 7 October under the Vida brand name.
The name ‘Vida’ means ‘life’ in Spanish and will be Hero’s brand for electric two-wheelers. Now, the electric scooter that is expected to be launched tomorrow gets quirky styling with slightly boxy-looking bodywork. Additional details and specifications of the electric scooter are unknown but it is likely to come with removable batteries to make it more convenient for users. Moreover, Hero Motocorp has also partnered with Bharat Petroleum for setting up fast charging and battery swapping stations across India.
Well, as for its pricing, the Hero Vida electric scooter is expected to be positioned as a mass-market product with a pricing of around Rs 1 lakh. This would put it in direct contention with the Ola S1 as well as the Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X and TVS iQube. That said, Hero’s massive dealer network would play well for the brand however the electric scooter is likely to be available in limited cities initially to gauge customer response and feedback.
