Hero MotoCorp has released the sales data for December 2022 which reveals that the company has recorded a minimal year-on-year drop in its overall sales. While the company had dispatched 3,94,773 units in December 2021, the figure for the corresponding month in 2022 was 3,94,172 units.
Looking at domestic sales and exports separately, the former witnessed a marginal increment while the latter dropped considerably. In India, Hero sold 3,81,365 units in December 2022 which was up from 3,73,485 units in the corresponding month in 2021. On the contrary, exports came down from 20,288 units to 12,814 units. Another interesting observation from the sales report is that Hero’s overall scooter sales grew by a substantial margin in December 2022 while motorcycle sales witnessed a slight drop.
Hero MotoCorp has consistently been India’s highest-selling two-wheeler brand for years and the brand’s Splendor series is the main contributor to that. Although the detailed sales report from SIAM for December 2022 isn’t released yet, we assume the Splendor Plus was the highest-selling two-wheeler last month as well. In other news, Hero launched the new Xpulse 200T 4V edition last month with a price tag of Rs 1.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
