- Hero working on a new 125cc bike
- Will compete with TVS Raider 125
- Design looks quite stylish
Hero MotoCorp is planning to take on one of the most successful bikes of TVS – the Raider 125. This motorcycle is positioned as a premium 125cc motorcycle which has worked quite well for TV, and Hero has built a motorcycle to take away some sales from TVS.
The Gurgaon-based manufacturer has started road-testing this upcoming 125cc premium motorcycle. Even though it was fully camouflaged, it is clear from these pictures that the bike is almost production-ready and looks quite stylish. The fascia houses a sharp and angular headlamp unit with integrated LED indicators. The fuel tank, too, is quite big and has sharp edges to go with the overall aggressive aesthetics of the motorcycle. The bike is equipped with split seats, which looks quite roomy.
This upcoming Hero motorcycle will get a 125cc engine in terms of performance. However, there’s still no information on whether this engine will come from the Super Splendor Xtec. The Raider 125 makes 11.2 bhp of peak power, whereas the Super Splendor number is 10.72 bhp. While it is clear that the company will position this new bike as a sporty commuter, it needs to be seen whether the performance will also be enhanced.
We expect Hero MotoCorp to launch this new 125cc motorcycle sometime next year. Regarding pricing, Hero could undercut the Raider 125, which starts at Rs. 87,000 for the drum brake variant. The most expensive variant is the one that comes with a Bluetooth cluster, and the price for that is Rs. 96,000.
