Hesketh has unveiled the Valiant SC, a GBP 50,000 (Rs 40.58 lakh) hand-built modern classic. With a moniker inspired by Royal Air Force’s fighter air crafts, the Valiant SC is a spiritual successor to the 1982 Hesketh V1000.
Styling cues like the round chrome-rimmed headlamp, clock and headlamp visor give the valiant SC a classic look, similar to the café racers from the 1980s. The exposed chrome-molybdenum double cradle frame contrasts beautifully with the motorcycle’s black theme. It can also been converted into a single-seater with a cowl.
At the heart of the Hesketh Valiant SC is a 2097cc V-twin engine with a Rotrex supercharger. Mated to a six-speed gearbox, the engine churns out a superbike-dwarfing 207bhp and 295Nm of torque. The suspension setup has been sourced from Ohlins and K-Tech, while braking has been taken care of by Rizoma. With production commencing in 2018, Hesketh has started accepting orders for the Valiant SC.
