Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced that it has achieved a new milestone. This time, the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand has announced that it has achieved cumulative exports of 30 lakh units in its 21st year of operations. Honda 2Wheelers India started exports in 2001 with the Activa. The company’s cumulative exports crossed the 15 lakh mark in 2016. The next 15 lakh exports were added in just five years.
The company established a new Overseas Business Expansion business vertical and also expanded its global exports footprint to developed markets like the United States, Japan, and Europe among others. Additionally, the two-wheeler maker also commenced the manufacturing of global engines from its fourth factory at Vithalapur, Gujarat.
Speaking about the milestone, Atsushi Ogata – Managing Director, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said that such milestones are a testimony of the company’s sustained efforts in expanding its footprint in global exports. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, added that led by Dio scooter, the company is expanding its export portfolio including both scooters and motorcycles.
