Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced its sales numbers for December 2022, and the company sold a total of 250,171 two-wheelers in our market during the month. Domestic sales increased from 2,10,638 units in December 2021 to 2,33,151 units in December 2022. Meanwhile, exports stood at 17,020 units.
Speaking about the company’s sales performance, Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said that the market is gaining steady momentum against previous months as well as on a year-on-year basis. Factors like a healthy festival season, good monsoon, and increased demand for personal mobility have translated well to a rise in customer walk-ins and enquiries.
In 2022, the Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer launched the limited-edition Dio Sports, Shine celebration edition, and Activa premium edition in our market. The company also celebrated one crore unit sales of the Shine 125cc commuter.
In the premium segment, the two-wheeler maker launched the 2022 Africa TwinAdventure Sports, along with the 2022 CB300R and CBR650R in the Indian market. The company also introduced the CB300F during the year.
