- Currently serving for autorickshaws only
- The same battery packs will be used for two-wheelers as well
- Dubbed the Honda Power Pack Exchanger
Honda India has commenced its battery swap operations in the country. The first swap station has been established in Bengaluru and dubbed the Honda Power Pack Exchanger. The firm has tied up with Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
In its initial phase, the Honda Power Pack Exchanger will cater to electric three-wheelers (autorickshaws) only for now. And in the future, the same packs will also be used for the Japanese brand’s electric two-wheelers as well. These swap stations are located at Banashankari, Trinity, KR Market, National College, and Baiyappanahalli.
Honda is currently working on its B2B EV offering, the Benly-e scooter. Its test mule has been spotted in India with a swappable battery unit. Moreover, Honda is also working on a completely new electric two-wheeler offering for our market. Currently, only the Bounce Infinity E1, Revolt RV 400, and the Vida V1 offer swappable battery tech in India.
