Honda CB Hornet 200R India launch: What to expect?

Honda 2Wheelers India will soon update its product portfolio with the launch of a new motorcycle. The company has released a teaser video of the upcoming product and it’s the CB190R that is currently available in select international markets. The company may rebrand the motorcycle for the Indian market and the upcoming product may arrive as the CB Hornet 200R. Here we tell you what to expect from the Honda CB Hornet 200R.

Design

The upcoming motorcycle will most likely retain the styling of the CB190R. Thus, the product will feature a naked roadster look that will be enhanced by a sharp-looking LED headlight, LCD instrument cluster, muscular fuel tank, split-style alloy wheels, step-up saddle and an underbelly exhaust. The motorcycle is available in two colours in the international markets – Black and Red. The teaser image shared by Honda, however, featured a Blue motorcycle, and thus we may see a wider colour palette in the Indian market.

Right Side

Engine

The mechanical specification on the international-spec (Colombia – listed with Euro3 standards) model includes a 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 15.5bhp of power at 8,000rpm and 15.3Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The India-spec model could feature slightly different power and torque output numbers.

Hardware

The teaser video posted by Honda 2Wheelers India confirms that the upcoming motorcycle will pack premium hardware. Thus, shock absorption duties will be performed by upside-down telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. The anchoring department is handled by petal-type discs on both wheels while the safety net should include a dual-channel ABS.

Right Front Three Quarter

Price

The Honda CB Hornet 200R will compete against the likes of Hero Xtreme 200R, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Expect the motorcycle to arrive in the Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh price bracket. The prices will be announced on 27 August 2020.
