- Type approved in the international market
- Could be displayed at the EICMA this year
- Likely to be powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine
The Honda CB1000 Hornet’s patent images had been leaked on the internet a while back but it now seems to be confirmed for production as well. The type approval documents of the bike have been leaked and here is what we know now.
As clear as the day, the CB1000 Hornet’s design is properly sporty and youthful with its sleek front end and chiselled fuel tank. However, one can’t possibly overlook the fact that its headlight resembles that of the Ducati Streetfighter. Well, that shouldn’t be a problem because the unit looks quite good and appealing.
Powering the Honda CB1000 Hornet will be a 999ccc inline-four-cylinder motor that makes 150hp and 100Nm. It will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. There could also be an SP model that would make slightly more power than the standard CB1000 Hornet.
The bike will ride on USD front forks, a monoshock at the rear and get dual front and a single rear disc. It could feature a TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, ride modes, traction control levels, ABS modes, and more.
We expect Honda to debut the CB1000 Hornet at the EICMA this year. While its design patent has been filed in India as well, the odds of it launching here are bleak.
