Honda showcased the new CB1000 Hornet at last year’s EICMA Show in Milan. After close to a year, the motorcycle has finally been unveiled globally and the details of the motorcycle have been released. In that case, let us take you through the key highlights of the CB1000 Hornet along with its pictures.
Visually, the CB1000 retains the ethos of the CB750 Hornet but the front fascia, with the menacing-looking dual LED headlamps, resembles the Ducati Streetfighter V4 to a great extent.
Honda has bestowed the bike with profoundly sharp and angular bodywork with angular cuts and creases and a pointed, upswept tail section.
It comes in two variants – standard and SP. While the former is available in three colours with silver front forks and black wheels, the SP trim sports golden forks and wheels accompanying blacked-out components.
Powering the bike is a 999cc, inline-four motor derived from the older model of the Fireblade. While the standard model produces 152bhp and 104Nm, the SP variant is more powerful at 157bhp and 107Nm.
Both variants differ on the hardware front as well. The base trim incorporates fully adjustable Showa suspension at both ends along with Nissin brake calipers.
While the SP model gets Showa forks up front, it comes fitted with a more premium Ohlins TTX36 monoshock at the rear. Even the brakes are higher-spec Brembo Stylemas.
The Honda CB1000 Hornet has already been launched in the UK with a price tag lower than the smaller Transalp 750 adventure bike. Now, whether it will come to India is still not confirmed.
